About the Summit

The Western Region Reentry Summit is a focused gathering centered on rebuilding opportunities, equity, and dignity for individuals returning to our communities after incarceration. Drawing together returning citizens, service providers, policymakers, and researchers, we collaborate to explore solutions-driven strategies that improve outcomes for justice-involved individuals.

With a foundation built on peer-centered advocacy, system-building, and equity-focused programming, our summit cultivates action-oriented dialogue. Attendees will engage in sessions on barriers to reentry, including housing, employment, healthcare access, gender-responsive programming, data-informed policy, and systems alignment.

The Western Region Reentry Summit will take place on October 14-16th, 2026, uniting voices from across the country to address what’s working, what’s needed, and how together, we can create a future where every individual has the chance to rebuild their life.

Our Mission

The Western Region Reentry Summit exists to advance second chances, rebuild opportunity, and restore dignity for individuals returning to our communities after incarceration.

Our mission is to break down systemic barriers, amplify the voices of those with lived experience, and empower communities to create pathways of hope, opportunity, and transformation across the United States.

Why It Matters

By keeping the summit intentionally intimate, we create space for authentic dialogue and stronger relationships between systems and communities.

Centering the lived experiences of returning citizens allows for genuine collaboration and the development of practical solutions that can be implemented to create lasting change.

What We Focus On

This summit brings together experts, advocates, and individuals with lived experience to share evidence-based strategies and innovative solutions that improve reentry outcomes.

Key focus areas include housing and transitional living, fair-chance employment, behavioral health and recovery, gender-responsive care, policy reform, expungement, peer-led advocacy, and cross-system collaboration.

Who Should Attend

This summit welcomes anyone dedicated to improving reentry and community reintegration.

Attendees include returning citizens, reentry professionals, policymakers, nonprofit and faith leaders, employers, educators, researchers, and advocates who believe in building pathways to restoration, equity, and second chances.
